The film ‘F1’ exceeds the half-minion of dollars in revenue, Apple is getting closer to sport

The feature film “F1, the film” produced by Apple has officially become the most successful theaters’ release of the technological giant, fueling growing speculations that Apple would soon become the American distribution partner in the discipline.

The film has now exceeded the half-minion of dollars in world box office revenue, eclipstating the previous titles supported by Apple like Napoleon ($ 221 million), Killers of the Flower Moon ($ 158 million) and Argylle ($ 96 million).

The film with Brad Pitt, shot in collaboration with Formula 1 and using Images of real Grand Prix, was released in more than 80 countries and exceeded the $ 400 million mark in mid-July. He has now exceeded Hollywood cult films like Superman ($ 502 million) and is one of the largest world successes in the summer.

The film streaming rights should be transferred to Apple TV later this year, but attention is now focused on Apple’s broader ambitions in Formula 1.

In July, several sources suggested that Apple was close to a nine -figure agreement (more than $ 100 million) to replace ESPN as a holder of US F1 rights from 2026. The interest demonstrated by the company is part of the expansion of its media footprint, following leading sports investments, especially in Major League Soccer and MLB.

The CEO of F1, Stefano Domenicali, welcomed the success of the film.

“I was sure that the film would be a success in the United States. But I was impressed by the European box office. Apple has experienced and could be an important partner for future projects. But I don’t want to say too much.”
