The Government of Canada has an annual financing of up to 850,000 dollars to support the functioning of the drug addiction (TTT) treatment courts managed by the Saskatchewan government. This funding allowed the recent opening of the Battlefords Treatment Treatment Treatment Court, which is an expansion of existing TTTs in Regina and Moose Jaw, in order to serve Battlefords and the Saskatchewan Center-West region. This was made possible thanks to the Trust Treatment Treatment Program of the Drust of the Ministry of Justice Canada.
The opening of the additional TTT was welcomed by Buckley Belanger, deputy for Desnethé – Missinippi – Rivière Churchill, on behalf of the Honorable Sean Fraser, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada. The Government of Canada is determined to provide support services to end the vicious circle of drug addiction without resorting to punishment.
TTTs make it possible to combine justice and health care, by promoting treatment rather than punishment for people whose criminal acts are linked to the consumption of substances. These courts aim to put an end to the vicious circle of drug addiction and crime in people delinquent adult adults.
