The Ministry of Health denied rumors on Monday on the presence of the Chikungunya virus in Tunisia on Monday, saying that no cases has been recorded in the country.
In a press release, the ministry specifies that it has strengthened the health monitoring and vigilance systems throughout the territory, including entry points, thanks to the border health control teams.
He underlines that all its services, at the national and regional levels, are mobilized and ready to implement the necessary preventive measures in the face of any evolution linked to this virus or any other health emergency.
The ministry recalls that chikungunya is not a new disease: this virus, mainly transmitted by the bite of the tiger mosquito (AEDES), has been raging for years in tropical areas. He recommends that travelers go to these regions to take the necessary precautions before their departure.
Jles citizens and the media are called upon to refer to official sources to learn and not relay false information.
