In a Leak on its official website, Philips briefly unveiled a new revolutionary bridge, a 2K video doorbell and permanent external lighting. The whole will be officially presented in Berlin next month, on the sidelines of IFA.
The undeniable star of this batch is the new bridge Bridge Pro. First major evolution of the Philips Hue bridge in ten years, this box (which goes black) promises tenfold performance.
The manufacturer announces a faster processor, more RAM and above all an extensive capacity: 150 bulbs and 50 accessories, Either more than the triple of the current bridge. The icing on the cake, it now incorporates Wi-Fi to get rid of the Ethernet cable. Practical.
But the real revolution is Motionaware technology. This feature would transform your existing Hue bulbs into motion detectors. Concretely, your lights could automatically adjust according to your trips to the house, without any additional sensor.
This technical feat would be based on Ivani’s Sensify technology, capable ofExtract movements via ZigBee radio waves. A firmware update will be enough to activate this function on your current equipment.
A HUE video door in 2K
Philips Hue catches up with a wired video bell that film in 2K, a qualitative leap compared to the 1080p of current HUE cameras. The design relies on sobriety with a button surrounded by LEDs and the Hue logo under the lens.
Another interesting novelty: Integration with the vocal assistant Sonos. You can control your Hue lighting directly from your Sonos speakers: turn on, turn off, modify the intensity, change the colors or select an atmosphere. The treatment is done locally, a guarantee of responsiveness and confidentiality.
More economical bulbs and premium external lighting
The range will be enriched by an NOuvelle bulb promising 40% energy savings and dimming up to 0.2%. It also incorporates Chromasync for more precise colorimetric synchronization between lighting.
On the outdoors, Philips Hue will launch two new Festavia ranges: permanent lighting to be fixed on the facade (in the line of Govee and Nanoleaf) and Globe String Lights particularly attractive. Each bulb sports an internal tube customizable with gradients and special effects.
Without forgetting new interior and exterior LED strips with gradient function, equipped with Chromasync technology and Omnignow for uniform light lines.
Bridge pro with its movement detection may well revolutionize connected lighting by removing the need for dedicated sensors. See you in September at IFA for technical details and especially prices.
