On our side of the border, the thermometer displayed approximately 4 ° to 6 ° in the North West, especially for the sectors of Matagami, Chibougamau and Val-d’Or. You can’t talk about frost, but it’s still quite cool temperatures.
A contagious air
Good news for big sleepers: this cooler air is spreading over the whole of the beautiful province! “The cold that was in northwest Quebec spreads more to the center of the province. Early Friday morning, some sectors of Quebec could have similar values, locally. For example, for the Manicouagan region there is a possibility of seeing a mercury from 0 ° to 5 °, ”says Patrick Duplessis, meteorologist.
Further south, we do not expect such striking freshness, but sectors like the Laurentians could experience a mercury from 6 ° to 10 ° (locally). “These low minimums should above all be recorded outside major cities. On the side of Montreal and Gatineau, it could be more than 15 ° and around 12 ° for Quebec, ”adds Patrick Duplessis.
The trend is to warmer nights
How many cool nights have the great Montreal region has known since the start of the season? Ask those who do not have a air conditioner and they will tell you: very little! Without farce, the figures speak for themselves. Since July 1, the metropolis should normally have had 14 nights below 15 °, while for the moment, it is nine nights with this type of mercury. If it happens on the night of Thursday to Friday, it would be the tenth time this season. From July 1 to August 15, Montreal also has a general rule, three nights under 12 °. Until now, the metropolis has recorded only one.
Small important note by finishing: the night from Saturday to Sunday will return the south of Quebec with the night heat … but it will be short -lived. A series of refreshing nights should then appear!
