The Poitiers Basket will enter the Sables d’Olonne

The Poitiers Basket 86 knows its opponent in 64e final of the Coupe de France. For its entry into the competition, the Poitevin club will make a short trip, on September 13, in Sables d’Olonne, with a resident of Male National 1.

The Vendeans, whose ex-PB coach, Jérôme Navier, was a general manager in the 2023-2024 season, emerged from a successful exercise since they reached the accession semi-finals where they were eliminated by Mulhouse.

Directed by François Sence, not kept by La Rochelle after having made the maritime club in Pro B access in 2022, the Sablais have in their ranks several experienced players, like Cheikh Gassama or Jean-Michel Mipoka. They will start the meeting with an advantage of 7 points.

This will be disputed a week before the opening of the Elite 2 championship whose calendar should be unveiled by the NLNB in a few days.

Recall that during their preparation, the players of Andy Thornton-Jones will travel to Blois (Elite 2) on August 22, then to Saint-Clément-des-Baleines to face the Rochelais stadium (elite 2) on August 30, before welcoming Saint-Eloi Nantes (elite 2) on September 3 and La Rochelle on September 5.
