The president of the Scouts and Guides of France forced to resign

The attacks had become too intense. Marine Rosset, elected on June 14 at the head of the Scouts and Guides of France, announced on Wednesday August 6, resigning from her post. The one who is also a socialist councilor at the town hall of 5e Arrondissement of Paris had however been designated president of this youth movement almost unanimously from her board of directors with 22 votes out of 24. Very quickly, however, her election had been the subject of strong criticisms, coming from both far-right sites such as the Beige or Borders fair, but also from a part of the French Catholics, especially within the most conservative fringe.

In question, his political commitment within the Socialist Party, but also his private life: without making it a particular advertisement, but without hiding it either, the 39 -year -old woman is homosexual. His openly pro-abortion positions, in contradiction with the doctrine of the Church, also irritated his opponents, who continued to attack him during the six weeks that his mandate lasted.

“The situation had become untenable and my will is to protect the movement”explains Marine Rosset in an interview with The cross published Wednesday August 6. After her election, she said, “There have been people, outside scouting, political, communication, even financial forces, who have instrumentalized positions that I have been able to have.”
