The Taghi Traqué clan

According to Young AfricaDutch justice continued the investigations after the conviction of Ridouan Taghi. She was particularly interested in her sons Faissal, Adil and Firass, as well as her cousin, lawyer Youssef Taghi. The latter would be involved in an attempted escape from Ridouan Taghi in prison. Faissal Taghi, 25, was arrested in Dubai in September 2023, then extradited to the Netherlands in July 2024. Condemned for drug trafficking, money laundering and participation in an armed escape attempt, he stayed in the high security prison in Vught (EBI).

Adil Taghi was arrested in Dubai in December 2024. According to some sources, he was expelled to Morocco, his country of origin. Adil Taghi would have been the brain of the escape plan, according to the encrypted messages intercepted by the investigators. He was also involved in a flight of 1.4 tonnes of cocaine at the port of Antwerp in August 2023. As for Youssef Taghi, penalty lawyer and Ridouan cousin of which he began to defend in 2020, he was arrested in October 2021 and sentenced to five and a half years in prison in early 2023 for his involvement in the attempted escape.

Dutch justice has gone further. In December 2023, Nora Taghi, Ridouan’s sister, and her husband was arrested for accusations of money laundering, illegal detention of weapons and drug trafficking. Anouar Taghi, nephew of Ridouan and Kickboxing practitioner, was sentenced to 26 years in prison in March 2024 for the assassination of lawyer Derk Wiersum in 2019. He served his sentence in a high security prison in Arnhem. Her young brother, Aimane, was arrested for cocaine traffic between 2020 and 2022, and arms trafficking.

Another member of the Taghi clan was also arrested in Morocco. Morad Taghi, Ridouan’s brother, was arrested for his involvement in an assassination attempt in Marrakech. The police also managed to get their hands on Raffaele Imperiale, former baron of the Neapolitan Mafia Camorra and brother-in-law of Faissal Taghi. He was arrested in Dubai in 2021 and agreed to collaborate with Italian justice in the case of “Orinus 2”, linked to international cocaine traffic.
