The Xpeng G6 and G9 disembark in France, first deliveries expected in September

Two new electric SUVs available in pre -order, a priori nothing exceptional, but the Xpeng G6 and G9 promise services that deserve to dwell on it. Whether in terms of price or recharge capacity, the two newcomers want to land in serious competitors in this ultra competitive market for family electric SUVs.

The Chinese manufacturer Xpeng opens the pre-orders in France for its G6 coupé SUV and its high-end the G9. For the launch of the G6, two versions are available: the long propulsion range and the four -wheel drive performance. Declinations which are reminiscent of those of one of its main competitors: the Tesla Model Y. The G6 can also be positioned alternative to Skoda Enyaq Coupé. If we believe the brand, the newcomer has serious arguments. This long autonomy version promises 550 km in WLTP standard. More than pure distance, it is mainly thanks to its recharge capacities that the G6 is distinguished. With its 800 V architecture, it promises a recharge of 10 to 80 % in just 12 minutesbut provided you have a terminal that can assume the 451 kW of power necessary to achieve such a performance. Apart from these capacities, Xpeng argues that its new Lithium-Fer-Phosphate battery pack limits the use of rare minerals such as cobalt, manganese or nickel. The prices start at € 46,990 (or € 445 per month in leasing) for the long autonomy propulsion version and € 50,990 for the integral. Again, Xpeng is placed in the face of competition in this highly disputed market for electric family SUVs. A Tesla Model y Long Range Propulsion, is displayed from € 47,443 while an Enyaq Coupé starts at € 49,020. The basic declination, that is to say standard autonomy propulsion, will not arrive in France until 2026.

The high-end of Xpeng, the G9, also arrives

For those who want more space, the G6 does not come alone. Xpeng also has in its boxes, or rather in its boats, a large SUV: the G9. And With more than 2.2 tonnes of empty and 4.89 meters long by 1.93 wide, it imposes. Here, three versions are available: The propulsion known as standard autonomy from € 59,990 (or € 765 per month in leasing), the autonomy version extended to € 63,990 and performance at € 73,990. The arguments of sale of this model are quite comparable to that of its little brother: a very efficient 800 V battery which can here accept 525 kW of charging power, there too to recover autonomy in record time. In addition, it is announced in the most optimal version to 570 km en norm WLTP. The G6 and the G9 are available now as a pre-order in France and deliveries are announced by Xpeng from the end of next September.
