In France, 30 serious illnesses benefit from full management by health insurance. Here is what you need to know to understand the ALD 30 system and be entitled to it.
Speeding to live, heavy to treat and often long to diagnose, certain pathologies give the right to a total exemption from medical costs. Since the decree of January 19, 2011, Health insurance officially recognizes 30 so -called “long -term” or ALD 30. as a current woman reports, “They lead to the abolition of the moderator ticket, that is to say that the patient benefits from the reimbursement at 100 % of the processing costs linked to this disease”.

How to benefit from this special care?
L’ALD does not activate automatically. Indeed, a precise protocol should be initiated by your attending physician. According to the public service website, “The patient attending the patient must apply for 100 % care for care related to the treatment of long -term disease.” The latter completes a medical form which will be subject to the validation of the social security consultant.
Once accepted, ALD opens the right to use a Bizone prescription : care related to the disease is fully taken care of on the upper part, while the others remain at the usual expenses. Better yet: The patient benefits from third -party payment for all health costs associated with ALD.
There are three types of ALD:
- ALD 30 : the official list of the 30 recognized pathologies;
- ALD 31 : for serious, but not listed diseases, treated on a case -by -case basis;
- ALD 32 : For people with several simultaneous heavy conditions.
What are the 30 diseases concerned?

The exemption duration is not unlimited. It varies according to the disease, between 2 and 5 years, renewable if the patient’s condition justifies it.
Which sometimes remains to be paid despite everything
L’ALD 100 % does not erase all costs. Patients should still pay certain costs:
- Fees
- Fixed participation of € 1 per consultation
- Medical franchises on drugs, care and transport
- Daily package in case of hospitalization
