Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and for good reason. A dietician specializing in oncology has listed 5 breakfasts that can reduce the risk of cancer.
There are a lot of advantages to have a healthy breakfast when you wake up. The first being to wake up well, the second, to keep until lunch without snacking, and the third, less known: limiting the risk of cancer. Alison Tierney, dietician specialized in oncology, holder of a master’s degree, a graduate dietitian and an expert in mental health, spoke about this on the She Finds site. She indeed explained : “Research shows that complete vegetable predominance foods can reduce the risk of several cancers while promoting energy, digestion and overall healing”. Here are the 5 breakfasts to favor.
1 – Full soy -based foods
If we think of tofu as a protein alternative to meat for vegans, it has many other advantages. According to the dietician, soy -based products like tofu “Can reduce the risk of breast and prostate cancer. Soy isoflavones help regulate hormones, not to disturb them.” The expert’s suggestion? A scrambled tofu with vegetables from breakfast.
2 – Complete cereals
This is a more widespread option than that of tofu. Many people already use it. For example by eating porridge in quinoa, or full cereal bread for example. According to Alison Tierney, they “help eliminate carcinogenic substances from the intestine and promote healthy digestion”. She advises to cook “Quinoa and oatmeal together for a bowl of breakfast rich in fiber and protein, or use cooked quinoa for oats that are easy to prepare the day before”.

3 – Bays
It is not an ingredient that we see a lot on the tables for breakfast, and yet. The berries have great benefits for the body, and for the prevention of cancer. These are “Powerful antioxidants that fight cell damage and strengthen immune defenses”. The dietician recommends eating them fresh, seasonal and preserving frozen berries for “Affordable options, all year round”.
4 – Cruciferous vegetables
Although it is less usual to eat vegetables at breakfast, it remains quite possible, and advised. “Curlying, broccoli and other cruciferous shoots promote natural detoxification and are rich in sulforaphane, a compound with anti -cancer properties”, explains Alison Tierney. If you don’t want to eat them as is, you can mix them.
5 – ground linen seeds
Flax seeds are a good way to eat good fats, essential for a balanced diet. According to the dietician, they are “rich in lignans, which balance the hormones, and in good fats which protect the cells”. You can sprinkle “Linen seeds on your cereals, mix them in your smoothies or add them to your toast to the avocado and your tofu scrambles”, explains Alison Tierney.
