The viral video showing an alleged dolphin trainer killed by a shoulder during a performance in a marine park, is entirely fictitious and generated by artificial intelligence (IA).
This sequence, widely shared on social networks, claims to show a certain Jessica Radcliffe occurring with a shoulder to the Pacific Blue Marine Park before being fatally attacked before the public, supposedly because of menstrual blood.
After checking, this video is completely false and generated by AI. According to the International Business Times (IBT), experts have identified the use of votes generated by IA combined with archive images.
The menstrual blood element would have been added only to strengthen the emotional impact of the content.
The false video seems to be inspired by two real tragic incidents: the death of Alexis Martinez in 2009 in Loro Parque, in the Canary Islands, who died of an internal hemorrhage following an incident with an orca, and that of Dawn Brancheau, in 2010 at Seaworld Orlando, killed by a shoulder in front of spectators after being struck and trained underwater.
IBT experts explain that the incorporation of elements from real incidents makes the false video more credible, thus facilitating its spread.
