Time will still be hot this Thursday

No red, but an almost generalized vigilance in all of France. The heat wave continues to strike France this Thursday, August 14, 2025. No less than 75 departments are on orange vigilance on the eve of a three-day weekend which will once again be a canicular with a new peak temperatures expected.

If we add the 14 departments in yellow vigilance, we realize that only the five departments of Normandy, Côtes-d’Armor and Finistère are in green.

Forecasts

A few storm showers persist from the north of Auvergne to the Ardennes and Lorraine this morning. Lightning should also touch the mountain in the afternoon with “thunderstorms that quickly burst in the afternoon, from the Jura to the Alps, the east of the Massif Central, the Pyrenees and Corsica”, writes Météo-France.

But overall, if not a few clouds in the west of the country that will quickly dissipate, it will be the sun that will “largely” dominate the country. And with him, the heat.

Because the minimums are close or greater than 20 degrees on a large southern and east of the country.

The maximums range from 23 to 29 degrees to Brittany and Normandy, elsewhere they exceed 30 degrees everywhere, often 33 to 36. The 40 degrees are approached or reached on Languedoc and PACA and more locally in Charente.

Météo France

And it’s not over. Temperatures should climb again this Friday, August 15, 2025. And last all weekend, the minimum.
