Four generations have, in a century,, the Durieu group, an Essonne SME specialized in the protection and embellishment of materials such as iron and wood, in a century. The company, whose management is transmitted from father to son, has carried out several strategic pivots during its already long existence.
Created in 1923 for an import-export activity of automotive parts, it quickly diversified towards cleaning products, such as the Transyl lubricant, while remaining in the car sector. In the 1950s, she started the turn that will lead her to what constitutes her core business today. First importer, then manufacturer under license, in particular an anti -rust, Durieu becomes independent by buying brands and can then project themselves internationally. Present in 60 countries, it manufactures its products exclusively in France in its Bondoufle (Essonne) and Caudry (North) factories. “Each generation has brought its stone to the building and expanded the perimeter of the company”, Comments Thibault Durieu, his CEO. This saga has as a common thread the passion to undertake which is “Especially when the company bears your name”.
If he cherishes the independence that the family model gives him, the manager acknowledges having needed to be shaken and accompanied in his projects. This is why he opened his board of directors to people outside the family in order to “Gain skills and experience”. An essential contribution when the group, always anxious to innovate, has resolutely committed to the path of bio -based products and seeks to find new international growth relays.
