Tom Cruise would have refused the distinction of Donald Trump Kennedy Center

Tom Cruise would have declined an invitation to receive a distinction from the Kennedy Center from US President Donald Trump.

On Wednesday, the American leader announced that actor Sylvester Stallone, singer Gloria Gaynor, the rock group Kiss, the star of Country Music George Strait and the Michael Crawford theater icon will be honored during a ceremony which will be held on December 7.

Trump, who sparked controversy when he took control of the artistic complex earlier this year, will be the host of the event.

But according to the editors of the Washington Post, Cruise was also offered to appear in promotion 2025, but rejected the invitation due to “agenda conflicts”.

A spokesperson for the actor Top Gun refused to comment on this report.

Recently, Cruise participated in the production of a black comedy produced and produced by Alejandro G. Iñárritu.

This unit, also featuring Jesse Plemons and John Goodman, is expected to be released in October 2026.

In addition, during the press conference, Trump joked saying that he had always wanted to be celebrated at the Kennedy Center Honors but that he “had never been able to get one”.

“I waited, expected and waited, and I said to myself:” To the devil, I will become chairman of the committee and I will award myself a distinction to myself “,” he said.

The Kennedy Center Honors 2025, who celebrate the personalities of the performing arts for their contributions to American culture, will be broadcast on CBS and streaming on Paramount later in the year.
