At the edge of the last pass, there were only five of them being able to compete for the final victory: Ben Healy (EF Education-Easy Post), Michael Storer (Tudor), Thymen Arensman (ineos grenadiers), Simon Yates (Visma-Lease a Bike) and Ben O’Connor (Jayco Alula).
It was then that Simon Yates dropped a bomb. Only Ben O’Connor and Thymen Arensman managed to stay in the wheel of the Visma-Lease A Bike runner who still attacked.
This is the first victory on this Tour de France for the recent winner of the Giro, as is his team from La Visma-Lease in Bike. Arensman finished second while Ben O’Connor finished on the last step of the podium.
Tim Wellens Perd La Montagne
On the Belgian side, Tim Wellens lost his polka dot jersey for the benefit of Lenny Martinez. The Frenchman took all the points to win the mountains. Wout Van Aert did not weigh on the race and dropped around 50 kilometers. For his part, Remco Evenepoel held up alongside the other two favorites that are Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard. The Belgian tried before being surprised by Tadej Pogacar afterwards. Vingegaard followed the last winner of the Tour de France well.
He was late on the Danish but managed to save his second place.
After ten days of routing in a row, the runners will finally be able to enjoy a well -deserved rest day on the side of Toulouse. After a day of rest in the pink city, the peloton will remain during this 11th stage around the prefecture of the Occitanie region and the Haute-Garonne department.
