At the end of June, they didn’t know each other. Seven hundred kilometers of road, 5 games and 2 extensions later, they are champions of France in Billy-Montigny (Pas-de-Calais). It is the beautiful human and sporting adventure of four neo-Aquitans: Sébastien Carment de La Tremblade, Valentin Pichenaud (Haute-Vienne), Ludovic Bernard and Hervé Lacombe (Lot-et-Garonne). “We leave like a group of friends,” said the latter, the captain.
The four players representing Lanouvelle-Aquitaine won their place thanks to their individual regional title in their respective category. Regional free part 1 for Sébastien Carment, 45 years old. Triple holding in title in its category, the maritime therefore participated for the third year in a row in the province cup (or French team championship) of French billiards. Two years ago, he gleaned the bronze medal and last year, released in a disappointing way in the quarterfinals.
The title after two extensions
The 2025 province cup begins very badly for Carment. Three losses in a row. But with mutual aid, the neo-Aquitans qualify for the semi-finals against Center-Val de Loire. The holder of the Tremblade club finds the way to victory and helps his teammates climb to the final against Île-de-France. The last battle is epic. Equality between the two regions. After two extensions where Sébastien Carment wins his matches, it is ultimately the neo-Aquitans who are sacred.
