A 74 -year -old Swiss is killed in paragliding
A deadly paragliding accident occurred this August 12 in Fiesch. The prosecution has opened an investigation.
The man fell in the Weisswasserbach river, in the center of the village.

A 74 -year -old man lost his life in a paragliding accident on Wednesday in Fiesch (VS) on Wednesday, the Valais cantonal police said in a statement. The man lost control of his paraglider for reasons still indeterminate and fell in the Weisswasserbach river.
The accident occurred around 4:45 p.m. of third parties alerted the emergency services. The Cantonal Valais Rescue organization has mobilized significant resources, including a helicopter, an ambulance, rescue specialists, mountain and aquatic rescuers. “The emergency services could only note the death of the pilot,” said the authorities.
During the incident, another person was also slightly injured. This person was transported to the Visp Hospital, the cantonal police said.
The public prosecutor of the Confederation (MPC) opened an investigation to determine the causes of the accident.
