A Swiss mountaineer fatally falls in Lagginhorn
The accident occurred on Tuesday at 3,800 meters above sea level. The rescuers could only note the death of the victim, whose identification is underway.

A mountaineer made a fatal fall in Lagginhornin the Saas-Gundund region on Tuesday August 5, reports the Valais cantonal police. The facts took place around 4:20 pm, while the victim and another person “descended from the Lagginhorn by the west stop”, said the press release issued this Wednesday.
The mountaineer dropped “at an altitude of about 3,800 meters”, for a still unknown reason. “The rescuers dispatched by the Cantonal Organization of the Aid Cantonal, went there aboard an Air Zermatt helicopter.” Upon their arrival, “they could only note the death” of the latter. She is a “Swiss national aged 46”.
Another deceased person was found in the Saas-Grund region on Sunday, August 3. His body had been spotted at around 3500 meters, during a search flight carried out by the Cantonal Organization of the Rescue. An instruction had also been opened.
