Vladimir Putin offers a motorcycle to an American retiree in Alaska

Mark Warren is not about to forget the passage of the Russian delegation near his home in Anchorage (Alaska). A week before the summit between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, this former retired firefighter inspector was walking on his motorcycle ural (Editor’s note: a Russian model with Side-Car) when he crossed a Russian television team, who wanted the interviewer. The retiree then complained of the high cost of repairs due to the scarcity of parts, the production chain now being in Ukraine.

“It has become viral, it was madness, and I have no idea why, because I’m really a super normal guy,” Mark tells Ktuu. Two days before the arrival of the Russian president in Alaska, the inhabitant received a letter informing him that he was going to receive a new motorcycle, via the Russian Embassy in the United States, from Vladimir Putin. The retiree obviously believed in a joke. And then, in the aftermath of the summit, he had a call: Mark was asked to come and remove his gift in a hotel in the region.

When the American arrived at the scene with his wife, six men – supposedly Russians – stood near a brand new motorcycle. “I was speechless. I said to myself: “You make fun of me, there”, says Mark. In exchange, the retiree simply had to pose and give an interview.

Warren accepted this lunar gift, not without a certain apprehension. “I don’t want a bunch of rages to attack me because I received a Russian motorcycle … I don’t want this for my family,” he says. The ex-firefighter has still not understood very well what happened to him, qualifying this story as “improbable” and “very strange”. He adds that according to the papers of the motorcycle, it would have left the factory on August 12, which makes it a gift of very first freshness.
