“We suspect a homicide”: the body and the bones found in Trois-Rivières in May identified

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) identified human remains discovered by a citizen on the street of the airport, in Trois-Rivières, last May.

The body and the bones found at the end of the morning on May 13, 2025 belonged to Michael Thomas, a young man of Trois-Rivières who has been missing since November 24, 2022. He was then 29 years old.

“We suspect a homicide,” said the SQ spokesperson for SQ on Tuesday.

The investigation is currently in the hands of the investigations on crimes against the person of the SQ.

On December 2, 2022, the SQ opened an investigation concerning the disappearance of Michael Thomas, reported on November 27 of the same year.

“This would have been seen for the last time on November 24, around 10:30 p.m., when he left his spouse’s home in the Saint-Philippe sector in Trois-Rivières,” the Three-Rivières police said at a press release.

His relatives had then expressed fears for his health and safety.

Michael Thomas’ body was discovered by a citizen who was walking in a wooded near Boulevard Saint-Jean and the street of the airport. Clothes were also said to have been found on the scene.

For the moment, the SQ has not disclosed any information concerning the investigation or possible arrest of a suspect.
