Construction holidays: Quebec records its worst road assessment in 10 years
No less than 38 deaths occurred on the roads and trails of Quebec during the construction holidays, which represents the worst assessment of the last 10 years. The Sûreté du Québec has counted 25 collisions on the road network which it serves, during which 31 deaths occurred. During the same period last year, 13 deaths were identified on the roads.

The Sûreté du Québec identifies the driving distractions, non-compliance with speed limits, driving capacity weakened by drugs, alcohol or combination of the two, as well as the non-port of safety equipment as the main causes of serious road accidents.

Three alleged smugglers and 44 migrants intercepted in a truck
Three alleged smugglers and 44 migrants were intercepted in the night from Saturday to Sunday when they were trying to enter Canada, near Stanstead, Estrie, irregularly. “In 25 years of career, this is the first time that we have a massive entry of this order,” said Miguel Bégin, director of the East district East district of the Border Services Agency in Canada (ASFC).
