When is a parade of Quebec pride?

The other day, on social media, I saw a publication passing which commented on the presence of Pablo Rodriguez in the Gaie pride in Montreal.

“What hypocrisy! Politicians are jostling to be photographed at the pride parade, but they do nothing for our community when they are in power! ”

Uh …

Pardon?

Our governments do nothing for LGBTQ+?

Where does this person live, exactly? In Iran? In Afghanistan?

What should Pablo Rodriguez do, great gods, to prove that he is not homophobic?

Frencher Alex Perron en public?

Learn all the touns of Marie Carmen by heart?

In Quebec, the Gaie pride parade is made more popular than that of Santa Claus! And there are so many public libraries that organize tale hours with Drag-Queens that we are starting to miss transvestites!

We will have to import it from Mexico!

During the day, they will pick up raspberries in a field, and in the evening, they will make up, put on louboutin and will read Little Red Riding Hood to 3 -year -old children.

Quebec? Hell!

Seriously, to hear some people, Quebec is a real hell for racial, sexual and religious minorities.

Coudonc, do these people travel to write such stupid things? Do they read the newspapers?

Why do they think hundreds of thousands of people around the world are queuing to come and live here?

Because they are worship with orange cones? Because they dream of buying a used dishwasher from furniture Elvis?

We went from one extreme to another.

When I was little, we made a “salvation to the flag” every Monday morning at school. No farce.

Standing in the great room, in front of the school principal (and Fleurdelysé).

To hear our teachers, Quebec was paradise, a blessed land of the gods.

Today, in our universities, we teach the opposite.

Law 21? Appalling!

Quebec police? A brutes’ branch!

Law 101? A colonialist law, which forces linguistic minorities to deny their culture and speak a language which is not theirs!

Quebec men? Finished machos!

I understand that the missions of higher education institutions is to encourage young people to develop their critical thinking.

But too much, it’s not enough.

Between “everything is great” and “everything is shit”, there is a happy medium.

Yes, Quebec falls into pieces. I write it regularly.

But in terms of respect for minorities, we are at the top of the list.

Just if we do not have an association of help for non -binary Greek blind people suffering from gout.

A little gratitude!

Without falling into the baby patriotism of the 60s, it would be good if we also talked about what is fine, in Quebec, in our schools.

Of our achievements that the whole world envies us.

Does it take a right foot and a left foot to walk?

Well, to move forward, a society must know how to celebrate its successes as much as to criticize its failures.

“We must show gratitude”, as my colleague Antoine Robitaille said in the very beautiful book he co -wrote with the French philosopher Alain Finkielkraut (Ingratitude: Conversation on our time).

Recognize the progress we have made over the years and show us indebted to all those who have fought to improve our daily lives.

Yes, Quebec is very croche.

Yes, Quebecers are terribly lacking in ambition and self -confidence.

But our nation is one of the most generous, the most welcoming and the most egalitarian in the world.

Homophobic, Quebec?

Misogynist?

Racist?

Please!

Sometimes I have the impression that our little activists are sad to live in a place as quiet as Quebec.

They are bored.

So they are invented with “bad fachos” to better fight them and thus, be able to play, too, to the revolutionaries.

If you miss that that much, rub you with an authoritarian diet, why don’t you take the plane to go and fight alongside women in Iran or Afghanistan?

___________

Should we veil Barbie?

In France, a small municipality which was to present the film Barbie During a cycle of outdoor projections decided to retreat, because … a “small neighborhood group” (it’s crazy the expressions that we invent not to say what must be said) ruled that this film seen by millions of people around the world was improper, because it “advocated homosexuality” and “undermined the integrity of women”.

“We had to cancel the projection because these people threatened to demolish the equipment” to say the mayor.

That’s the decline of the West. A small mouth group, and we deny our fundamental values.

Respect Hamas’ copy rights!

This week, the big boss of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) decided to cancel the screening of a documentary on the massacre of October 7, 2023 in Israel, because the feature producers had not asked the managers of this killing the permission to disseminate the images they had filmed!

The festival returned to its decision, but the evil is done.

Do you imagine the degree of crasing imbecility that it takes to say that you have to respect the rights of assassins who have filmed their crimes?

Do not show images of the concentration camps, because the copyright belongs to the Nazis?

Are you niadling me?

But how did this champion become a big boss of the Tiff? Sacre that outside, it presses!

Work in soft!

Unlike Ontario, which will force all its officials to enter the office five days a week, Quebec will continue to allow its officials to work from their home three days out of five.

“It makes the Quebec public service more attractive,” said Minister Sonia Lebel’s attaché.

What, are we lacking in civil servants? Isn’t there enough?
