Who is Elisabeth Terrail, the new EDF HRD?

While EDF initiates a deep transformation under the leadership of its new CEO Bernard Fontana, the Executive Committee evolves with the arrival of five new members. Among these appointments: that of Élisabeth Terrail, currently HRD of Framatome – which Bernard Fontana directs – who will soon pilot human resources on the level of the group.

A close friend of Bernard Fontana

If EDF does not comment on the links between Bernard Fontana and Élisabeth Terrail, the appointment is deemed logical at Framatome. Contacted by the New Factory, Alexandre Cretiaux, CFDT central delegate, welcomes a coherent choice: “The duo with Bernard Fontana worked well. Today, he recalls it alongside him, probably to continue the work undertaken, especially around key skills and trades in tension.»

The main lines of its action as EDF HRD, however, remain to be defined, its appointment taking effect until September 1. The trade unionist also highlights the quality of social dialogue under his direction, as well as the positive assessment she leaves behind.

An HR specialist in energy and nuclear

A graduate of a license in philosophy and a DESS in human resources management in Paris-Dauphine, Élisabeth Terrail has solid experience in HR in the energy sector. She began her career at Gaz de France in 1995 as operational HR on transport and storage infrastructure. She then joined the HR central functions, especially when creating the EDF group’s HRD.

It then branches off towards nuclear, successively taking the HR management of the National Center for Nuclear Studies (CNEN), in connection with the projects of Flamanville, Taishan or Hinkley Point C, then joining the World Association of Nuclear Operators (Wano). It then joined Dalkia, before returning in 2021 within the EDF group to create the University of nuclear trades, aimed at structuring the training and attractiveness of the sector. Since 2022, she has been HRD of Framatome. A course that seems to be fully part of the nuclear recovery strategy carried by the government, with EDF in chief of the lead.
