Why were so many police officers mobilized at the gates of Caen on Thursday afternoon?

The mobilization of the police around the Bretteville-sur-Odon roundabout in the agglomeration of Caen (Calvados), at the exit of the A84this Thursday, August 14, 2025 at the end of the afternoon, was relatively substantial. 19 offenses noted in Bretteville-sur-Odon

The control of this Thursday evening in Caen led police officers and gendarmes to note several offenses. Without driving licenses, insurance or technical inspection, a motorist, for example, saw his car confiscated.

In 1:30 am, just over a hundred vehicles were invited to park for a few moments on the side. The police found 12 offenses: six for lack of technical control leading to three assets of the vehicle, a driving without a license, a lack of insurance, a non-presentation of permit, non-compliance with road signaling and an unacitocated child.

On the gendarmerie side, six of the seven offenses observed concerned a lack of technical control.

Reinforcements on the flowery coast

“Every summer weekend, we multiply controls all over Calvados,” recalls Stéphane Sinagoga. Eighteen soldiers were also engaged in Vire this Thursday evening. Eight motorists were fined for excessive speeds, near the butterfly roundabout.
