Xbox gives 9 free games to take care of during the summer

I just spotted an avalanche of new games that land on the Xbox Game Pass this month, and frankly, it will be a month of madness! I have already blocked several evenings in my agenda to examine these nuggets. The Microsoft service continues to spoil us with nine free titles that arrive in waves throughout the month of August. What satisfy all the types of players, whether you are a fan of action-adventure, strategy or horror.

News Xbox Game Pass for all tastes

The Xbox Game Pass catalog expands further with Nine particularly attractive titles. I can already feel my thumbs which quivered at the idea of playing it! Among the games that arrive, I spot a few nuggets that clearly deserve your attention.

Rain World has been available since August 5 and offers a unique survival experience in a post-apocalyptic world. I love these games that leave the beaten track with an original artistic direction. On August 6, no less than four games arrived suddenly: Citizen Sleeper 2, Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders, MechWarrior 5: Clans et Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap. Between the rest of an acclaimed narrative RPG and strategic action games, there is something to do!

August 7 marked the arrival of Assassin’s Creed Mirage, probably The most awaited outing of this batch. I am impatient at the idea of finding a formula closer to the origins of the series, with Baghdad as a playground. It is exactly the type of game where I can spend hours visiting each corner and deciphering the subtleties of the Level Design.

On August 12, two major titles joined the service: Aliens: Fireteam Elite and Hellblade 2 Enhanced. Finally, on August 14, 9 Kings completed this impressive list.

The nuggets not to be missed

If I had to make a ranking of the most promising games on this list, Assassin’s Creed Mirage would certainly take the lead. This return to the sources of the saga promises a more concentrated experience on infiltration and parkour. After spending hundreds of hours on the latest installments, I am curious to see how Ubisoft has revisited its classic mechanics.

Hellblade 2 Enhanced also deserves our full attention. The continuation of the masterpiece of Ninja Theory plunges us back into mythical 9th century Iceland, alongside Senua. The first opus had completely upset me by its representation of psychosis and its oppressive atmosphere. This improved version promises to be even more immersive.

Here is my top 3 games to watch absolutely:

  1. Assassin’s Creed Mirage – A more concentrated adventure in the 9th century Baghdad
  2. Hellblade 2 Enhanced – The continuation of a breathtaking narrative game
  3. 9 Kings – a kingdom construction rogelike with rave criticism

I can’t wait to immerse myself in 9 Kings, this kingdom construction rogelike which displays “very positive” assessments on Steam with more than 10,500 opinions. The concept of building an army to face rival sovereigns reminds me of my long sessions on strategy games, but with this random dimension which guarantees an almost infinite replayability.

Which Game Pass formula to take advantage of these titles?

Please note, all these games are not available in all Game Pass formulas. I have already made the mistake of hyper for a game that I could not download with my basic subscription! To avoid this disappointment, I concocted a small summary table:

Game Date Compatible formulas
Rain World August 5 Ultimate, PC, Standard
Citizen Sleeper 2 August 6 Standard
MechWarrior 5: Clans August 6 Standard
Assassin’s Creed Mirage August 7 Ultimate, PC
Buffy: Fireteam elite August 12 Ultimate, PC

I advise you to check your subscription formula before getting carried away for these new features. If you want to access all of these nine gamesUltimate subscription is clearly the best option. I did the switch a few months ago and frankly, given the quality of the games added, it’s worth every penny.

Well, I already go prepare my external SSD to accommodate all these games. Between tactical fights against aliens xenomorphs: Fireteam Elite and infiltration in medieval Baghdad, my month of August promises to be loaded with intensive gaming. What about you, which of these titles tempts you the most?
