A petition on the site of the National Assembly brings together, Sunday noon, more than 860,000 signatures to claim the repeal of the Duplomb. This law, adopted at the beginning of the month, provides for the reintroduction of a pesticide from the family of neonicotinoids. The procedure provides that the Conference of Presidents of the National Assembly may decide to organize a debate in public session. “Of course, we can only see the figures that show that part of the French wants us to debate”reacts Yaël Braun-Pivet in Muret (Haute-Garonne), where she attended the departure of the 15th stage of the Tour de France.

“The French have signed this petition. We will be able to organize a debate from the start of parliamentary on this subject. It is a subject that we will approach at the conference of presidents, but I am obviously favorable”she added.

The president of the National Assembly made an appointment at the start of the school year, the Parliament is not currently located. The Conference of Presidents “will sit in extraordinary session” In September, she said. “Before the debate in the hemicycle, there will be a debate in committee, normally economic affairs, the deputies will be able to meet, discuss. There will be the appointment of a rapporteur” et “There will be a debate in the hemicycle, that’s what the French want”she detailed.
Yaël Braun-Pivet, however, recalled that the text had already been adopted by the Assembly and that a debate “Will not be able to return to the law passed”. The parliamentary debate could not lead to an abrogation of the text, “Now it is up to the Constitutional Council to rule on the law and on its regularity”she said. “We are within the framework of an important text which has been voted and which will save a number of our farmers”she recalled.
