Many users across the Atlantic were surprised to see a brand new design for the YouTube web player. Its more minimalist design seems to be inspired by that of Apple for its last bones.
It must be said that the web player has not changed design for several years when web and even TV experiences have changed more lately.
Google has not announced anything officially for the arrival of this new design, but it seems to be massively tested with users across the Atlantic.
More minimalist, this reader gives way to transparency and floating icons. These icons are now integrated into bubbles on both sides of the reader.
We cannot help seeing here the inspiration of Liquid Glass design in this update, which also changes the disposition of the different functions of the reader. For some users, a new field has been added to post a comment or an emoji reaction.
We do not yet know if it is a global deployment or a life -size test. The reactions are already mixed with certain Reddit users deeming the design “horrible” or “disgusting”, while some admit to love it for its simplicity.
