France while running: a 36th successful edition of Cournonterral in Bernay

The 3rd edition of “La France running” crossed the finish line in Bernay in Eure. Nevertheless, Saturday August 2 at 5 p.m.

Cournonterral. Consequently, chosen this year as the starting village of this team relay by teams of 8, in 14 stages of almost 200 km each, had carefully prepared the launch of this edition.

First of all, an 8.2 km course was drawn through the town and its nearby surroundings, so that no village sector is forgotten.

Then, the craft village of the FEC was enriched by the presence of local craftsmen.

The musical entertainment was also there, with the Awakening Cournonterralais and “Lo Chi Valet de Cournonterral”.

Two local teams participated in the prologue, including one composed of village firefighters. Finally, the meals and the refreshment bar, provided by france while running: 36th successful local associations, have honored local cuisine.

The official start of the race was given on Sunday July 20 at 3 a.m., towards the Pyrénées-Orientales, the arrival point of the first stage.

The runners then faced the three Pyrenean stages. marked by the crossing of seven passes, including the emblematic Tourmalet and Aubisque.

The race continued to go up the Landes. crossing the Vendée, Brittany, then Normandy with an essential passage to Mont-Saint-Michel, before joining Pas-de-Calais and finally Bernay, town of arrival.

This edition will remain memories like a Grand Cru, with nearly 2,700 kilometers traveled and a very disputed final classification.

The victory returns to Team Team Ory Immobile, who completed the course in 178 hours, 58 minutes and 21 seconds.

In second position, PMU sprinters finished in 186 hours, 36 minutes and 6 seconds. The podium is supplemented by the Eure department team, with a total time of 191 hours, 56 minutes and 34 seconds.
