Michelle Setlakwe becomes the parliamentary leader of the PLQ

(Montreal) The MP for Mont-Royal-Outremont Michelle Setlakwe becomes the parliamentary leader of the Quebec Liberal Party (PLQ), the party announced on Thursday.


Following the election of Pablo Rodriguez at the head of the political party, the PLQ detailed the responsibilities granted to the members of its Caucus by press release.

Mme Setlakwe, who had supported Mr. Rodriguez in the race for the chiefdom, replaces Nelligan’s deputy, Monsef Derraji, as a parliamentary leader. Mr. Derraji now held the functions of spokespersons in terms of transport and sustainable mobility as well as energy.

The deputy of Pontiac, André Fortin, will occupy the position of Whip -in -Chief in place of Filomena Rotioti. The deputy for Jeanne-Mance-Viger rather becomes the president of the Caucus.

The deputy for Marguerite-Bourgeoys, Frédéric Beauchemin, becomes a deputy leader.

The former interim chief of the PLQ, Marc Tanguay, will now take care of the files related to health and the Capitale-Nationale.

Today, we breathe new energy with this formidable team of talented, experienced and dedicated parliamentarians, “said Rodriguez, in the press release.
