The archipelago sheltered from a possible strike at Air Canada

Air links with the islands would not be affected in the event of a raising of air Canada on -board agents.

In the summer season, the carrier offers daily flights connecting the Madelinot archipelago to the cities of Quebec and Montreal.

These connections are made under the trade brand Air Canada Express and are provided by Jazz and Pal Airlines.

These independent companies are not affected by this labor conflict.

Travelers who planned to use Air Canada to reach other destinations are exposed to possible disruptions.

Note that the airline agents voted this week at 99.7 % in favor of a strike mandate this week.

Considering that the union cannot issue a work stoppage notice before August 16 and that a disengagement must be announced 72 hours in advance, a strike is not possible before August 19.

The salary issue is at the heart of the negotiations between the two parties.

Last year, the Air Canada pilots had such a mandate before coming to an agreement with the employer.
