Manor department stores concentrate their offer in the food segment on the Latin regions of the country alone, to the detriment of German -speaking Switzerland. The Geneva parent company therefore plans to gradually give in to Coop its Rapperswil, Emmen and Basel sites, between early 2026 and early 2027.
Invoking for the time being a simple “intention”, the press release released on Wednesday nevertheless ensures a takeover by the other orange giant of the distribution of all the employees of the three supermarkets concerned, on conditions at least equivalent to their current contracts.
French -speaking Switzerland will not be completely spared either, Manor plans to rent the surface of the Morges supermarket in Migros as early as next year. If necessary, employees will be offered internal reclassification in the region.
