A 35-year-old man is in a stable state after being shot by Square Cabot, in the Ville-Marie borough in Montreal on Tuesday evening.
The incident occurred around 9:35 p.m. on Tupper Street nearby Atwater avenue, said Jean-Pierre Brabant, spokesperson for the Montreal City Police Service.
The victim, conscious, was transported to the hospital center.
Despite significant injuries, his state of health stabilized in the hours after the assault.
A suspect was arrested around 4:20 am in a housing building located on Tupper Street, near Seymour avenue.
He was transported to the investigation center to meet the investigators in the coming hours.
The circumstances of this event remain unknown to the police.
A perimeter was erected between Atwater Avenue, Tupper Street and rue du Sussex in order to leave investigators and technicians in judicial identity to analyze the scene.
Videos of surveillance cameras near the scene of the incident will also be viewed by the investigators to try to shed light on this attack.
