A massive recall of Peugeot 308 in Europe, the belts are problematic

Thousands of Peugeot 308 are the subject of a recall campaign at European level, reports TF1. The models concerned, produced between October 12, 2015 and December 1, 2019, have a defect in the rear seat belt that can be detached in the event of an impact. “The rear seat belt anchors may not resist the impact of force sufficiently,” says Rapex, the European product recall platform, cited by Capital.

The approval numbers of the vehicles concerned (available on the gray card, box K) range from E22007/46040504 to E22007/46040526, with several intermediate intervals. The owners must contact their dealer, who will replace the defective parts for free. The wine code, registered on the gray card, also makes it possible to check if the vehicle is concerned.

This recall occurs a few weeks after a large operation concerning several hundred thousand Stellantis vehicles equipped with the 1.5 BlueHDI diesel engine, for risk of reliability and breakage. Other brands, such as Citroën, DS, Fiat, Opel and Alfa Romeo, have also been recalled for defects that can cause fire or malfunction of automatic emergency brake.
