Two people died on Sunday at the end of the night in a wedding party, including the bride, and three were seriously injured, after hooded and armed men fired on the couple, in Goult, a small village in Luberon, in the Vaucluse.
If no track is for the moment privileged, the assumption of a settlement of accounts against the background of drug trafficking is envisaged, specified on Sunday morning a source close to the file, while a very important gendarmerie device was mobilized on the investigation, to track down and challenge the shooters and advance the file on the judicial plan.

Under an overwhelming sun and heat, the village of Goult was in shock at the end of the morning Sunday, just a few hours after the facts, around 4:30 a.m., when the married couple left the party, organized in the town hall of the town.
On the start, aboard a car, the bride and groom found themselves targeted by the shots of several hooded and armed attackers, arrived on their side on a vehicle. If the bride is well dead, after being touched by the shots, the other deceased person, one of the attackers, lost their lives after being crushed by the car while they were trying to escape.
A child injured in the shooting
According to another source close to the file, a child of ten years is one of the three seriously injured, without it being specified how they were affected, by the shooters of the shooters or during the maneuver of the Married vehicle.
According to the mayor of the town, Didier Perello, the village hall had been reserved by the couple since March. The young woman is from Apt and the groom of Cavaillon, he told AFP.
According to the Gendarmerie Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, 28 people in total were “involved” in this drama, the number of people still present during the facts in the village hall, in Goult, a small village of some 1,000 inhabitants barely.
At the end of the morning Sunday, several gendarmerie cars were visible in the village, barring access to the place of the drama. AFP journalists on site were also able to see a hearse from a funeral company.
Living in the town, some 200 m from the village hall, Daniel, a 55-year-old truck driver, explained to AFP that it was “woken up by noise around 4:30 am”: “Then, around 6 am, I heard the noises of two helicopters flying over the village in Rase-Mottes. It will not make a good ad for the town, ”he was already worried.
“I heard noises and I thought they were fireworks,” said Tanguy, 29, still with AFPTV, also out of his sleep by the assailants. He did not know the bride and groom either: “I think they came from outside,” said the young man, pizzaiolo by profession.
Authors of the desired shooting
A very important device was set up to find the authors of the shots, said the gendarmerie on Sunday morning, notably stressing that the investigation was entrusted to the Marseille research section.
A triple device was thus mobilized: a strong command device of twelve people, between Goult and Avignon; A research device mobilizing 65 people, a helicopter, the local GIGN antenna (intervention group of the national gendarmerie) and two runner -track teams; And finally a legal system, with 30 investigators, including three technicians in criminal identification and IRCGN (Institute for Criminal Research of the National Gendarmerie) in Pontoise, in the Paris region.
Patron of the Le Goultois restaurant, Guillaume Molinas, 50, fears in any case that this news item will “talk about the negative village”. “The last big news item in the village was one hundred and twenty-five years,” said this resident, “but only the ancients remember,” he smiles.
For tourists attacked at the restaurants of this magnificent village perched on a rocky piton, many English speakers or Germans, the events of the night did not seem to have yet had many consequences.
