This joint embarkation aimed to strengthen operational cooperation between France and Vanuatu, to promote the sharing of expertise in fisheries police, and to fight against illegal, unsuccessful and unregulated fishing (INN) via maritime, air and satellite surveillance. Several fishing ships have been interviewed, allowing the collection of data in real time. On the high seas, the Vanuatais observer participated in a visit team during the control of a palanger, contributing to a concrete exchange of procedures. An F200 Gardian Plane Flotilla 25Fdeployed in Port-Vila, supported the detection and identification operations.
This action is part of the continuous efforts of France and its partners in the area to strengthen regional maritime cooperation and encourage the search for agreements shipriding (boarding of foreign agents aboard the French Navy ships for fisheries control operations), essential lever in the fight against Inn fishing in the Pacific.
