- Of the 38 complainants, more than twenty employees of Migros Cornavin came to confront their former voyeur colleague at the police court.
- From 2019 to 2021, the 30 -year -old entered the women’s locker room more than 800 times to secretly film his colleagues.
- The victims bear witness to serious psychological sequelae linked to the violation of their intimacy.
- In addition to the question of sentence and a possible therapeutic measure, the question of compensation to the victims punctuated the debates.
They came in force to court. More than twenty young women. All were used Migros from Cornavin station. For the most part, it was “an essential job”, a way to finance their studies. All they crossed this colleague, whom they describe as amendment, too tactile and capable of asking displaced questions about their intimacy.
Today he is 30 years old and he is alone, with his lawyer, facing the judge of Police court. For how long did her camera filmed his colleagues in the wardrobe of women? The survey made it possible to establish that it all started at the very least in 2019 to end on May 31, 2021.
Hard drive with 1733 files
At the time of the search, the police got their hands on his hard drive. Inside a “Migros” file, each colleague filmed had his file. A total of 1733 files. For this, he entered the locker room reserved for his female colleagues more than 800 times by pretending to be a badge problem. At the time, they complained about the hierarchy. Their colleague had received a warning, nothing more.
Then, a red light attracted the gaze of an employee of the supermarket. The camera was there, in an angle, and aimed at it specifically. For all 38 complainants, the majority of whom wanted to participate in the trial, “it was a massacre”. The beginning of depressive phases for some, paranoia in public places and the feeling that images of them can be diffused anywhere, anytime. “This locker room was a place of respite. Now I know there was no respite, “said one of them.
Serious repercussions
A camera violating intimacy to satisfy voyeuristic impulses can destroy lives. Tuesday, this is what the twenty women wanted to tell the judge who took the time to listen to each. “After discovering what he did, I started to eat in large quantities in a compulsive manner. I only wanted my body to look like what he saw, ”says a victim in tears.
For others, depression diagnoses were made: “I had to stop when I had to finish my studies. When the legal deadline had passed, I learned by phone that I was dismissed, ”said one of the complainants.
He claims to have changed
These words came after the traditional questions to the defendant. Born in Switzerland, a graduate of the business school but unemployed, he now seeks to reintegrate himself by volunteering. He does not dispute the accusation and swears that the images have never been disseminated to anyone. “It is for this reason that I was using an encrypted external hard drive with fingerprint by fingerprint.”
For his defense, the former Migros employee wanted to provide proof that he is treated. Certificate in hand of therapeutic treatment in sexology he follows, he claims to have changed since his brief incarceration. “I spent three years in my room to think. I understood the importance of working on these questions with specialists. Today, my vision of women has changed: I can no longer understand them only as an object of desire. ”
Handmaps?
Beyond confirming the crime of violation of the secret domain by means of a device for taking, this trial must fix moral harm to be paid to the victims. On this point, the apologies formulated earlier are liquefy when the accused repeats that he refuses to compensate his colleagues filmed without their knowledge (Me Youri Widmer, their lawyer, requests 1000 or 2000 francs per victim depending on the consequences and their medical expenses). “I know all these women. Not all of them are likely to be affected in the same way by the acts I have committed, ”gets the thirty -something. In his back, the complainants strangle. “How does he dare to quantify and trivialize the impact on the victims?” We have all experienced the same thing, we have all our traumas and our way of managing them, ”replies one of them.
On Tuesday, the man in search of redemption even got on his knees in front of his victims, sitting less than three meters from him. Then his lawyer, Me Patrick Bolle tried to convince the judge that the stay would be more appropriate than the sentence of one year in prison and the therapeutic measure required by the public prosecutor.
The judge withdrew, he will make his decision on Wednesday.
