While the mixed double painting opened its doors to the US Open, Gaël Monfils did not wait long to impose the values of the FFL on Flushing Meadows.
Gaël Monfils starts hard at the US Open
Engaged in the new mixed double format with Naomi Osaka at the US Open, Gaël Monfils was opposed to the first round at Lorenzo Musetti and Caty McNally. And we must admit that each point was disputed as if it were a gigantic tie-break. But after 42 minutes of play, it is the Monfils opponents who pocket this first shortcut set (5-3). This does not prevent the Monf ‘from doing the show, as usual.

Then in the second round, while a start in the Franco-Japanese pair could be feared, there was nothing of that. Fortunately. The Monf ‘and Naomi Osaka lose the match (5-3, 4-2) in just over an hour. Even in our most sweet dreams, we could not have imagined such a scenario. Hoping that it happens for French in single.
Pure drama!
