Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney arrived in front of the Montreal City Hall around 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, for a private interview with the mayor of Montreal Valérie Plante. This is Mr. Carney’s first meeting with a Canadian mayor.
The Plante Administration had unrolled the red carpet for the occasion, rue Notre-Dame. Upon his arrival, Mr. Carney rushed into the municipal building, followed by the many media present. The Prime Minister then signed the town hall’s golden book before elipping with the mayor.
He did not answer any questions.

Mr. Carney was greeted by a noisy crowd, including Propalestinian demonstrators who claimed “more justice”.
Valérie Plante must answer questions from the media following this meeting, around 2:15 p.m. According to a well informed source, it will be a question in particular of the financing of at least two real estate projects: that is those of the Bridge-Bonaventure and Namur-Hippodrome sectors.
These projects require an agreement with the Federal, since most land belongs to the Company of Canada (sic).
Mark Carney must meet Prime Minister François Legault later, at the end of the day. He must also participate in a round table on artificial intelligence and innovation.
Other details will follow.
