“Whether you are a space fanatic or someone who simply likes to see the earth shine over 400 km above sea level, the countdown has officially started,” published the American giant of continuous broadcasting on a blog, promising a start of broadcast this summer.

On the program, he specifies: “breathtaking views of the earth from the International Space Station (ISS), extravéicular outlets of astronauts giving you cold sweats and rocket launches”.

Such a distribution agreement will make it possible to “make space more accessible in homes”, congratulated the space agency in a press release, without revealing the duration or the amount of this contract.

Netflix had signed a similar partnership earlier in June with TF1, leader in audiences in France, allowing the American platform to broadcast the group’s channels. This was a world premiere, Netflix having previously never opened to another operator.

With NASA, the American giant, which had more than 300 million subscribers worldwide last December, will be able to add a spatial repertoire to its increasing offer of live content.

At the end of 2024, the platform had notably distinguished itself by broadcasting two games from the Professional League for American football NFL and a boxing match between Youtuber Jake Paul and Mike Tyson live live.

The broadcasts of the NASA space missions will however remain available live free of charge and without advertising on the site and the application of the agency, insisted NASA.
