A tragic road accident, whose precise circumstances remain to be determined, occurred shortly before 2 am on the night of Saturday August 23 to Sunday August 24 south of the Commercial Zone of Comboire between Échirolles and the Pont-de-Claix.
A motorist has indeed lost control, presumably in the roundabout of South Comboir, on the RD 269 D, and his car has left the road, ending his race in the waters of the Drac.
The 20-year-old driver came out of the cabin and was able to join the bank with light injuries but his passenger, a young woman of 19 who remained in the immersed vehicle, had to be extracted by the firefighters specialized in aquatic rescue.
Despite the efforts of the rescuers and a Samu 38 team to revive it, she did not survive.
