A newly created club, the Brest FC did honor to the jersey, this Sunday, during the first round of the French Cup. Despite the elimination (2-6) against the FC lampaul, the dynamics are launched.
Coupe de France: Brest FC (D3) – Lampaul FC (D1): 2-6
One of the curiosities of this first round of the French Cup, in Finistère, was the entry into the Brest FC, the new club of the Cité du Ponant, which was born on January 14 and which will play in the third district divisions. On this occasion, the Brestois received FC Lampalais (D1), a team that played in R3 last season. On the lawn of the Kergrach complex, the hierarchy was respected, with a victory of visitors (6-2). Even if the score remained anecdotal, this match was an opportunity for Nawardine Ahamadi and her team to gauge in the face of a solid training. “We gave a few goals but I saw good things. There is matter to work well, ”analyzed the Brest FC coach.
Working well, showing beautiful values to aim for the rise in D2 in this season is the objective announced by the president of the club, Rakib Said. Rafiki SaĂŻd’s brother, current striker at Liège Standard and trained at the Brest stadium, is at the origin of the Brest FC project, imagined last year. “I too went through the SB29 training center,” explains the BFC manager. The idea is to be inspired by what is in the world of professional football to structure and develop the club.
To date, Brest FC has a single team and 25 licensees, while still waiting for a few signatures before the resumption of the district championships. Authorized to recruit only six transferred players, the club will rely on unlimited players, who resume football after having stopped. “We hope to be able to hire a second senior team next season, and why not also launch a team of young people,” projects Rakib Said.
Regarding long -term ambitions, the president of the BFC does not set limits. “We want to be one of the best Brest clubs! »»
