Iran: the law suspending cooperation with the IAEA comes into force

(Reuters) – Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian brought into force a law adopted by Parliament on Wednesday on Wednesday to suspend the country’s cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (AIAA), report the Iranian state media.

The adoption of this law implies the suspension of the installation of surveillance cameras on nuclear sites, inspections and the presentation of reports to the IAEA.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi also said in an interview with CBS News that the United States of the Fordo nuclear nuclear site had “seriously” damaged his facilities.

“No one knows exactly what has happened in Fordo. That said, what we know so far is that the facilities have been seriously and heavily damaged,” he said.

“The organization of atomic energy of the Islamic Republic of Iran (…) currently performs an assessment, the report of which will be subject to the government,” he added.

President Donald Trump said that the strikes had “completely and fully destroyed” the Iranian nuclear program, but officials in the United States recognize that it will take time to take stock of the damage caused by the American strikes that occurred on the weekend of June 21 and 22.
