The French Minister of Foreign Affairs requires the “immediate liberation” of Cécile Kohler and Jacques Paris, charged for “espionage for Mossad” in Iran.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot demands the “immediate and unconditional liberation” of the French Cécile Kohler and Jacques Paris, selected for three years in Iran and charged for “espionage for the Mossad”.
The two detainees are also accused of “conspiracy to overthrow the regime” and “corruption on earth”, according to Cécile Kohler’s sister. Each of these three charges is liable to the death penalty.
“If the charges that were mentioned were confirmed, we would consider them completely unjustified and unfounded,” said Jean-Noël Barrot this Thursday, July 3.
Torture to torture “conditions of detention”
“We will continue to mobilize as long as it is necessary by their side and those of their family,” continued the minister.
Cécile Kohler, a 40 -year -old teacher of letters from eastern France and her companion Jacques Paris, 72, were arrested on May 7, 2022, on the last day of a tourist trip to Iran.
The two French people have been “held hostages for three years in unworthy conditions comparable to torture”, denounced Jean-Noël Barrot on Tuesday in the Assembly.
