Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: battery similar to S25 Ultra, but surprises for autonomy

While rumors evoked the time of the location of S Pen to increase the size of the battery on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, the reality would be very different. According to a recent information leak, the 5,000 mAh battery of the Galaxy S25 Ultra is again present. Bad news that would be thwarted by three beneficial developments for the smartphone, especially in terms of autonomy.

Two levers to boost the autonomy of the ultra galaxy s26, and another for design

Following this rumor with a capacity of 5,000 mAh for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, the famous Ice Universe brought an interesting precision: Samsung would have improved energy density. Thus, the battery would be more compact, which would allow the Galaxy S26 ultra to be finer and lighter than its predecessor.

In parallel, the leak also mentions new features on the quick charge side, just to offer users the possibility of regaining more quickly in autonomy. More specifically, new technology would reduce temperatures during recharging, allowing to benefit from a power of 65 W on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, against 45 W on the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

The opportunity for Samsung to significantly catch up with competition, while continuing to get ahead of Apple and Google – always shy in this area.

Finally, the autonomy would be entitled to a good boost thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Elite of Qualcomm. The Galaxy S26 Ultra chip would actually benefit from a more advanced 3 Nm engraving process, thus involving better energy efficiency.

As a bonus: the first performance tests show a power gain of 29 % in single-core and 12 % in multi-core Compared to the Snapdragon 8 Elite of the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
