iOS 26 uses AI to detect if someone undresses during a call. Video and audio are then automatically frozen to protect the user from an unwanted exposure.
With the future iOS 26 update, Apple wants to focus on children’s accounts to protect them. Among the new tools announced, there is one that blocks nudity on FaceTime.
“Communication safety extends to intervene when nudity is detected in video calls Facetime and to blur nudity in shared albums in photos. »»
This measure aims to protect our dear blond heads, but it seems that it goes further.
Also frozen adults
In the current beta version of iOS 26, even adults are subject to these restrictions, as discovered @idevicehelpus on X.
The possibility is still left to the user to continue the call or to end it. The terms used also speak of “discomfort”. Freedom is therefore left. Above all, the option is not activated by default. This need to go to Settings> Applications> Facetime> Sensitive Content Warning.
The system analyzes in real time video in order to detect potentially embarrassing situations. The trigger is done in three stages:
- The image of the person concerned is immediately frozen and blurred.
- A warning message appears on the screen, informing the user that potentially sensitive content has been detected and that the video stream has been paused.
- The call is not cut, leaving the user the choice to end the conversation or to continue.
Apple insists on a crucial point: the entire analysis is carried out locally on the iPhone. No image or given is sent to Apple’s servers, which ensures that the confidentiality of the call is preserved. Apple therefore assures not “look” not your conversations.
