The Jura Government transmits to Parliament a message in connection with the legislation on the notariat and the transfer of the municipality of Moutier. It is a question of inserting a transitional provision adjusting the activity of notaries whose study is located in the provost city.
(Keystone-ATS) The latter will thus be able to request an authorization to exercise the notariat on the basis of their Bernese patent, the government said on Thursday. In addition, they will have, by December 31, 2027, to choose in which canton, Jura or Berne, they wish to exercise their function exclusively, specifies the press release.
In the meantime, they will be “exceptionally” allowed to exercise in the two cantons. These measures aim to alleviate for citizens the effects of the change of cantonal belonging of the municipality of Moutier in a territorial “eminently” matter, while allowing notaries to organize themselves accordingly.
In detail, the message of the Jura Government to Parliament concerns a partial revision project of the current notarial law and an amendment to the executive in connection with the total revision of the notaries relating to the notariat.
