Several people were stabbed on Thursday near a shopping center in the city of Tampere, Finland, and a suspect was arrested, police said in a statement.
“The situation no longer presents danger. The victims receive first aid, ”she added, stressing that she was unable to specify in the immediate number of victims.
Several police and ambulances were quickly dispatched to the scene of the attack, according to local media. The police said they were alerted at 4:23 p.m. local time (1:23 p.m. GMT).
The area outside the ratina shopping center in Tampere is complete and the police always questioned witnesses to the scene, more than an hour after the facts.
The city of Tampere, which has around 260,000 inhabitants, is located 180 kilometers north of Helsinki.
