Searches and arrests took place this Thursday morning on Bernard boulevard in Saint-Ephrem and on road 277 in Lac-Etchemin.
This operation, which arises from an investigation that started in recent months, has mobilized about twenty police officers and has enabled the seizure of a 12 -caliber rifle.
During the operation, the agents arrested Michael Poulin, 32. It should appear in videoconference during the day at the Palais de Justice de Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce in connection with a breakdown of engagement. Other charges related to traffic and unauthorized possession of firearms could follow. Moreover, another 31 -year -old man was arrested in connection with the unauthorized possession of a firearm and then released awaiting the continuation of the investigation.
The operation was carried out by the police of the Integrated Team of Arms Trafficking (Eilta) Quebec, made up of members of the Sûreté du Québec and members of the Quebec City Police Service, and this, in collaboration, the Department of Investigations on Violence linked to Firearms (SEVAF) and the National Squad for the Repression of Organized Crime (ENRCO) also including the Police Service of the City of Lévis. The Sûreté du Québec intervention group has also been used.
