The Internet was not particularly mild with the new CLA, but the World Wide Web does not pay Mercedes to maintain its sales. It is the buyers who do it, using their hardly won money.
The three -pointed star is happy to announce that the demand for his electric sedan is strong, the chief of production Joerg Burzer describing orders as “very encouraging”. So much so that the compact luxury car will go to a three -team production program later this year to respond to the high number, although not specified, of orders.
Mercedes has taken orders since April in Germany, but some national buyers may have to wait until 2026 for delivery, according to the economic newspaper Automotive week. The long delivery times are generally a sign of high demand, unless there are bottlenecks in the production process. There had been some problems to secure rare earths, but Burzer says that these problems have been solved and that there is currently no restrictions.

The production of the CLA is still in the rise in power, with plans to add a petrol version towards the end of the year. It will be a light hybrid model with a 1.5 -liter turbocharged petrol engine and an automatic eight -speed double clutch transmission. The thermal version should significantly reduce the starting price compared to the basic electrical model. In France, the cheapest EV configuration starts at € 52,900 for the CLA 250+ with EQ technology.
The demand should still grow with the launch of a new Cla Shoting Brake. Mercedes does another compact break, and this time, it will also be sold as an EV. It will also be assembled at the German Rastatt factory, where the new generation GLA crossover should also be manufactured.
Burzer has not excluded to extend the life cycle of class A and class B. The two lines of models, made in the same factory, remain popular despite their age. However, no replacement for the two cars is planned, making the CLA the new entry -level model. Another GLB is in preparation with petrol and electric versions, as well as so-called “small G” planned for the end of this decade.
